Building a Godly Legacy:
It’s been an excellent month at Hope Bible Baptist Church of Chipata! On the 19th, we had a great turnout of 125 people who attended our charter service. Everyone came with excitement and zeal for God’s work in this new city church. People are getting saved, but it’s not ending there. We’re seeing fruit that remains as disciples grow and take steps in their walk with Christ. Fifteen people followed the Lord in baptism as they publicly testified of their new faith. It was an exhilarating time and we’re looking forward to helping these new believers as they live for Christ!
Because we are currently holding our services in a local hotel, we can only gather as a congregation on Sunday mornings. However, we’re committed to still moving forward towards our goals. Throughout the week, our members host life-groups, discipleship meetings, and Bible studies in their homes. We are the church, and while we wait for an actual building, we’re digging in and building the people. Please keep us in your prayers as we search for land to secure a permanent home for our church in the city. We have faith that God will provide for us just as He has done recently with our ministry base.
With the rainy season fast approaching, we’re rushing to get as much done as possible on our newly acquired land. The dream for our mission base has only recently become a reality. But now that it’s here, we can’t wait to start! Currently, we’re waiting to hire the only bulldozer in the whole city of Chipata. Our goal is to clear the land and drill a well before the onslaught of rain begins. We kindly ask for your prayers as we continue to raise the remaining $15,800 needed to complete phase two of this project. Rest assured, we’ll keep you updated on our progress every step of the way.
It’s important to remember that this is not a one-man show. There are many involved in this ministry both at home and abroad. We understand that it is only by working together that we can achieve great things for God. Thank you for sharing our vision to spread the Gospel in Sub-Saharan Africa as we build a legacy founded on Biblical truth for the next generation!
A Little Letter From Lisa:
Over the last month, our family played a game of ‘Pass the Cold’ – it’s like hot potato but with more coughing! We turned the clinic into our second home, clocking in six visits in a single week. There, we enjoyed an assortment of labwork, tests, and check-ups. When it was Aria’s turn (post a very scary fever episode), she was using my shoulder as a pillow in the waiting room. I asked how she felt, expecting a week and sad reply. Her response? ‘I’m tired, hungry, and happy.’ It was so Classic Aria to not let hungry and tired get her down! The kids were absolute champions, and we marked our victory over the Attack of Fevers by decking our halls with Christmas cheer. Talk about perfect timing – just as we regained our energy, we put it all into tangling up in Christmas lights!
Hope Bible Baptist Church – Chipata
Out in the beautiful Eastern Province of Zambia, something extraordinary is happening. We’ve got two big projects going on here, each playing its part in a shared dream. We’re talking about the Hope Zambia Ministry Base and the Hope Bible Baptist Church building project in Chipata. These projects are like two sides of the same coin, working together to spread the Gospel throughout Zambia and beyond! Understanding their differences and how they complement each other will give you insight into our vision and their collective impact on our ministry…
The Christian Roundtable!
Over the past few months, we’ve been busy recording episodes for our new radio show, the Christian Roundtable. We’re thrilled about this new venture! A lot of effort has been invested in this project, and we’re just about ready to launch it. This broadcast has the potential to connect with up to one million listeners across Chipata and the Eastern Province of Zambia. Pray for us as we boldly proclaim the Gospel, that God’s people will grow at Hope Bible Baptist Church, and that Jesus will get the glory.
Fruit that Remains:
This true account is one of many stories of a life that has crossed paths with our own throughout our time in Zambia, Africa. The names and places, of course, are changed to protect the identities of those involved.
I wouldn’t say I liked Mubanga very much. If I’m honest, maybe I didn’t trust him. And that’s probably because of how we met. Anytime a witch doctor gets involved, things don’t usually end well. I’ve been to so many villages, all frequented by these “traditional healers.” Their work leaves a lasting imprint of fear and oppression. So it was in the middle of all this that I met Mubanga for the first time.

We just gained a couple of NEW SUPPORTERS this month! Will you also consider joining the cause? This week, we’re reaching out to our ever-supportive circle (yes, I’m looking at you! ). We would love to bring on board some incredible folks who might consider supporting us on a monthly basis. Every bit helps, from the price of a couple of cappuccinos to a dinner out. It all goes straight into nurturing our growing mission and expanding our reach for the Gospel’s sake.
Monthly support is like the steady drumbeat that lets us plan, expand, and ensure no one misses out on hearing about Jesus. We totally understand if you’re already doing all that you can. Sharing this post to help us raise awareness around the cause in the regions beyond goes a long way, too!
We’re grateful for the opportunities we’ve had to serve and the unwavering support that you’ve shown us. As our mission continues to expand, we’re reaching more communities, raising more disciples, and, yes, incurring more expenses. It’s a positive challenge to have, as it means that our efforts are making a greater impact and touching more lives.
Thank you for being by our side on this journey and for considering diving even deeper with us.
